The Pathfinder Career Design Method

The effective, proven method to choose a career that fits you like a custom-made pair of jeans

A life-altering process that empowers you to choose a career path that not only fits your natural abilities but also aligns perfectly with who you are as a whole person.

A successful, fulfilling meaningful career starts with knowing what your brain’s wired to do best

Aptitudes are inborn capabilities of what your brain is naturally good at doing. Different aptitudes dictate how effectively and happily you can perform certain tasks.  When your career aligns with your aptitudes, work feels like a natural extension of your abilities, and you’re happy & fulfilled.

Meet Mr Hippo, the gentle, giant hippopotamus.

Imagine Mr Hippo pursuing a career as a ballet dancer because he always loved going to watch the ballet. He can't balance. He’s clumsy. He can’t memorize the steps.

Even if he changes bosses, reads self-development books, goes to therapy, gets a pay raise, moves companies, gets positive feedback, or attends a motivational seminar, he will never succeed. He may get depressed, look down on himself, and be demotivated. He may think “if only I tried harder, I’d succeed”. He may get depressed and struggle with low self-esteem or burnout.

The solution is obvious

When Mr Hippo figures out his natural strengths (his physical prowess) and then chooses a job where he can use them; like a security guard for the CIA (if he’s got a passion for serving and loves spy movies) or a bouncer for a nightclub (if he’s an extroverted night owl, an extrovert and loves to party); he’ll excel at, and enjoy, his job.

The Pathfinder Aptitude Assessment:
An objective fact-based measurement of how our brains function and think.

Based on the most advanced research in human behavior (influenced by the renowned O’Connor research), the Pathfinder Aptitude Assessment delivers consistent, accurate & objective results about 13 inherent cognitive skills (aptitudes). The test measures your brain’s natural way of working and gives clear information about the type of activities your ideal job will include.

Consistent

Your mood or emotional state doesn’t matter. Neither does your background or life experience. The results are consistent and accurate across the board.

Judgment-free

The test promotes a non-judgmental approach to understanding one's cognitive abilities and facilitates acceptance of individual differences.

Scientific

These skills have been identified by leading researchers in human behavior as universal aptitudes.

How it compares to other tests

Tests like the Jung, 16 personalities, Kolbe, and Clifton Strengths, focus on personality, behaviors, or how individual strengths will work within a certain environment. While these assessments are useful for identifying specific roles within an organization, they don’t offer the objective, personalized perspective needed for successful career decisions.

The Pathfinder Aptitude Assessment
Other tests
Knowledge or experience of the working world.
It does not require any knowledge of professions or careers. It provides accurate results and insights whether you've just graduated from high school or have had a successful career as a senior executive.
These assume you have some knowledge or experience in the working world. If you’ve  never worked before or aren’t familiar with other job roles, these tests won’t provide valuable, meaningful direction.
Emotional or psychological state when taking the test.
Research shows that this assessment provides consistent results across the board.
Research shows that the outcomes of other tests can fluctuate based on an individual's emotional state when taking the test.
Level of self-awareness
Those with a more developed self-awareness find powerful validation and a new way to understand their careers until now.

Younger individuals with less self-awareness will gain an eye-opening understanding of why they succeeded or struggled in certain areas up till now — along with clarity to make better career decisions going forward.
These tests work best for individuals with a high level of self-awareness, as they rely on an accurate self-assessment of one's skills, strengths, and interests.

If someone doesn’t yet have a strong self-understanding, these tests may not accurately represent their strengths, capabilities or ideal career choices.
